Alpine Wildflower ID Hike to Lost Lake
July 22, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Alpine wildflowers endure heavy snowfall, bitter wind, intense UV rays, and extreme cold. Learn how these jewels of the plant world survive and even thrive in one of the harshest environments on earth.
Participants can expect a short distance to identify different species of alpine wildflowers to and around Lost Lake (just below Cottonwood Pass). The hike will be led by longtime GARNA volunteer Marilyn Moore. Marilyn was a Master Gardener in Denver County for 17 years and a horticulture volunteer at Denver Botanic Gardens for 20 years.
