Hike in Browns Canyon National Monument – Bassam Park
Get out with GARNA to explore Browns Canyon National Monument on Friday, October 27. This guided hike will be on the 1435 south loop in the Bassam Park area of Browns Canyon. The trail meanders through grassy meadows and open Ponderosa pine forests with views of Bassam Park and the Arkansas Valley.
The hike distance is approximately 5-6 miles and is rated moderate to difficult because of the distance. The starting elevation is 9,353 ft reaching a maximum elevation of 9,884 ft for a gain of about 530 ft.
The hike is located on the drier, east side of the valley. The weather could be very pleasant, or could be cold with rain or snow.

The hike is free and open to the public but donations to GARNA are always much appreciated. Please email the office to reserve your spot. More details about meeting times and locations will be sent to registered participants.
Many GARNA programs require a liability release form be filled out each calendar year.

If we are notified of your need to cancel within 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. If minimum enrollment has not been met by program date, programs will be cancelled 2 days prior to the date and we will refund the full amount.
