Christmas Bird Count
The 2017 Salida Christmas Bird Count is Saturday, December 16, 2017. The Christmas Bird Count started in 1900 as an alternative to the holiday tradition of shooting birds. This is now the longest running citizen science project in the world. The Salida Count started in 2003 and covers a 15-mile diameter circle. The Salida Count is sponsored by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the GARNA Birding Club both assisting to provide lunch for the volunteers. Many GARNA programs require a liability release form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below. Please include a note with the program you are registering for.

If we are notified of your need to cancel within 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. If minimum enrollment has not been met by program date, programs will be cancelled 2 days prior to the date and we will refund the full amount.
