In 1992 Colorado Governor Roy Romer declared May 9, 1992 as “Arkansas River Cleanup Day”. This was quite an honor, and we all been staying true to the intent of this Declaration for the past 25 years. On Saturday, May 20, it’s time again to clean up the Arkansas River and surrounding areas before the summer river season begins. Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area (AHRA) and GARNA are teaming up for the 26th annual Arkansas River Clean Up Green Up.
May 20 is also the 1st annual Colorado Public Lands Day.
Pre-register:
Groups and/or individuals can sign up prior to the date by calling AHRA at 719-539-7289. If you have a favorite place that needs cleaning, please let AHRA know. If you need a suggestion of a locale that needs some TLC, they can provide that info.
Day of registration will take place at 8:30 am at:
Volunteer picnic from 12:00 until 2:30 pm at Riverside Park in Salida.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
