This hike was originally scheduled for April 5 but was postponed because of weather.
A second date has been scheduled for Saturday, May 17.
Bob Hickey, volunteer geologist with the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area and GARNA, will lead participants on a cross country journey to explore multiple geological formations in a section of the Arkansas Hills and along Dead Horse Gulch. Along the way Bob will point out and explain the varied geological outcroppings. The ultimate destination of the hike is referred to as the Golden Towers or Golden Spires which are some of the most fascinating formations in the area. This moderate, cross-country hike will be approximately 5 miles in length.
As an amateur geologist, Bob Hickey is a true student of all-things geological. He is continually building his knowledge to share with anyone interested. Bob has led many hikes to explore the rich and diverse geological phenomena of our area.
Time: 8:30 am until 2:30 pm

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
