Envision Recreation in Balance Public Input Session
February 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Envision’s Recreation in Balance program hosts a pubic input session on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the Poncha Springs New Town Hall. The partnership with GARNA, the U.S. Forest Service Salida Ranger District and the Central Colorado Conservancy was awarded $99K in grant funding to develop this important program to manage recreation impacts related to growth in Chaffee County. Please join us as the planning begins!
The program will create a county-wide recreation map and a volunteer-driven monitoring system to identify areas of concern and growing use. A Balanced Recreation Plan by 2020 will provide long-range vision for the county and guide future growth through the County Comprehensive Plan. The program also will inform the use of Chaffee Common Ground (Ballot Issue 1A) funds.
Thank you Envision volunteers — especially the dedicated Healthy Forests Action Team and Recreation in Balance Task Force members — who worked hard to get this off the ground. Thanks as well to Colorado Parks and Wildlife for funding support.
