Sam Liebl will speak about his quest to thrive alongside wild plants in every season. Drawing on historical accounts, current ethno-botanical research, and his daily first-hand experience, Sam has begun to know the plants of the Upper Arkansas and San Luis valleys as food, tools, and medicine. In this talk he will discuss how you, too, can responsibly use wild plants in your own life
Presenter Sam Liebl has dedicated himself to finding a sustainable way to live in the Western United States. To that end he has become a student of indigenous skills–how to feed, clothe, heal, and shelter himself as humans have for 95% of our time on this planet. Sam is an instructor at the Crestone-based Earth Knack School. He and his wife Jillian teach survival and primitive skills in Salida, Crestone, and around the country. The cost of the class is $10 for GARNA members, $12 for non-members.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
