Chaffee Rec Adopters Volunteer Training
All volunteers, experienced and brand-new, are invited to join GARNA for a pre-season volunteer training at Valley View School House in Salida on March 29 from 3:00-4:30 PM. Receive training, tools, and gear to steward our local designated and dispersed camping areas according to the latest land management agency guidelines. You can also take this opportunity to get our 2026 workdays on your calendar!

Refresh/Learn how to:
- Identify an illegal firepit and other issues on public lands
- Properly deconstruct or reconstruct a firepit
- Respond to and report a hot, abandoned firepit
- Use the CMC Rims App to report issues on public lands
- Tap into our community public land stewardship network to address issues on public lands
Wear comfy clothes and bring a water bottle. We will provide light snacks. Training activities will be implemented indoors at the Valley View Schoolhouse (9051 CR-140 Salida, CO 81201).
Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
