Snowshoe with Continental Divide Trail Coalition

February 7 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join CDT Gateway Community Ambassador Justice Wise and GARNA for a guided snowshoe adventure near the Continental Divide on Saturday, February 7th at 9 AM!
Participants will meet their guide at the Waterdog Lakes Trailhead at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 AM departure. The snowshoe will head up the trail for 1.5-2 miles towards the Continental Divide. The hike will be 4-5 miles maximum. This outing is a Level 4 on GARNA’s difficulty rating system.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This event is designed for people with some familiarity using snowshoes, or who are able to hike 4+ miles at a time. Please do not bring other types of equipment (e.g. skis).
  • Snowshoes will be available to borrow, courtesy of Salida Mountain Sports or GARNA.
  • Please note that the CDTC program leader is AIARE 1 and Wilderness First Responder certified.
  • Remember to dress warm, bring sunglasses, water, and a snack if needed. Always prepare for changing weather conditions in the mountains!
  • Please do not bring your pet to the program.
  • Carpooling to the event location is encouraged.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.

Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:

If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
