Join us Friday for our first Ski With a Naturalist program of the season. Winter is here and we are stoked to get out with you!
GARNA is again partnering with Monarch Mountain and the USFS Salida Ranger District to offer locals & resort guests a free on-hill ski naturalist tour on the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month throughout the season.
Each week will feature a special guest speaker who will focus the tour on their area of expertise.
This week - December 17 - GARNA's ED Dominique Naccarato & Chris Kassar from Elk Raven Photography will lead the tour, which will touch on the history of Monarch and the surrounding area, geology, public lands, winter ecology, the ecology of subalpine forests & of course, tips for capturing great photos in the high country!
Meet Friday at 11:00 am at the sign near the Cat Skiing Yurt across from the Pioneer lift.
Guests of all ages and abilities are welcome.
The tour is free, follows all beginner runs and lasts for about an hour.
