In 1992 Colorado Governor Roy Romer declared May 9, 1992 as “Arkansas River Cleanup Day”. This was quite an honor, and we all been staying true to the intent of this Declaration for the past 25 years. On Saturday, May 16, 2018, it’s time again to clean up the Arkansas River and surrounding areas before the summer river season begins. Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area (AHRA) and GARNA are teaming up for the 29th annual Arkansas River Clean Up Green Up.
Pre-register:
Groups and/or individuals can sign up prior to the date by calling signing up for a locale that needs some TLC, click here to sign up as an individual or group. If you have a favorite place that needs cleaning, please call AHRA at 719-539-7289. And sign up as a volunteer through Colorado Parks and Wildlife to have your volunteer hours count towards a State Parks Pass! Sign up as a CPW volunteer by clicking here.
Be a part of one of the valley’s longest running community events, social distancing included! While we might not be able to have a picnic, our watershed still needs us.
Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
