In an effort to keep our community healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the screening of WASTED! THE STORY OF FOOD WASTE has been moved to the online world.

The first film in GARNA’s Environmental Film Series is still happening, but rather than gathering in person, we’ll gather for a conversation here, within the comment section for the event on Facebook.

WASTED! THE STORY OF FOOD WASTE aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chef-heroes like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system.

WASTED! exposes the criminality of food waste and how it’s directly contributing to climate change and shows us how each of us can make small changes – all of them delicious – to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st Century.

Chaffee Green Sustainability Program of GARNA is asking participants to watch the film on their own (we know you have time!) The film can be rented through On Demand, Amazon, iTunes and many other online sources. Then, we want to “hear” your comments and have a discussion using the comments section of the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/135194787871412/

For those that are not on Facebook, you can comment below. For questions or concerns, please email info@garna.org.
