On Saturday, June 23, there will be a wildfire panel presentation with local Custer County officials and agency representatives from the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. The presentation is an opportunity to have a common dialogue about fire on the landscape and the strategic use of fire on the landscape in Custer County and nearby areas. Public participation is extremely important in order to share values and concerns.
Dennis Page, Fire Management Officer for the USDA Forest Service San Carlos Ranger District, Pike-San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron/Comanche National Grasslands, will provide insight and information on current fire issues and the role of fire in modern wildland management. Dennis and other federal land agency representatives will be joined by local Custer County officials, including County Commissioner Tom Flower, Custer County Sheriff Shannon Byerly, and Custer County Office of Emergency Management Director Cindy Howard.
The event will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at the Cliff Lanes Banquet Hall, 25 Main Street in Westcliffe. The program is free. For more information, please call GARNA at 719-539-5106.
Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
