In March, the GARNA Earth-Friendly Book Club will discuss The End of Plenty: The Race to Feed a Crowded World, by Joel K. Bourne, Jr. “Modern humanity has many, very-very serious problems to overcome if our species is to survive and prosper long-term. Climate change, fossil fuel emission levels, dwindling natural resources and growing fundamentalism…However, overpopulation (specifically) resulting in limited food resources is…perhaps the most compelling of all to resolve. Ironically, in spite of human nature, it could be one of the easiest problems to fix given enough serious attention…This book presents a compelling case for the reader to begin to get our collective heads around the enormity of the problem and its devastating potential consequences. It also offers some solutions.” – excerpted from a review on Amazon
Most monthly meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Book Haven. If you are interested in joining, and are a GARNA member, please email Marilyn Moore.
