GARNA is kicking-off a series of casual conversations about climate change issues in the Upper Arkansas Valley. Topics will range from possible effects of climate change to sustainability and opportunities for adaptation. Local experts in various topics will present. The hour will include a short presentation followed by Q&A and lively discussion!
The third in the series will take place on Thursday, June 25 at Benson’s Tavern in Salida. John Sztukowski, Wildlands Conservation Coordinator with Wild Connections, will lead the discussion. John has a background in climate change, sustainable agriculture and wilderness conservation. He will discuss the importance of large landscapes, connectivity, and biodiversity in the face of climate change. He’ll talk about vulnerabilities (general and species specific) and what can be done with regard to management, mitigation, and adaptation. John will tie this back to the work that Wild Connections does – protecting and restoring wild lands in central Colorado – and more specifically the work he is doing to try and preserve the Arkansas River connectivity corridor and other connectivity areas in the region.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
