On this full day field trip, the students will be learning about Caring for Public Lands from US Forest Service volunteers, Wildfires from US Forest Service Fire Crew volunteers, Yoga and Reflection skills, and Aquatic Biology. The goal of the program is for students to learn more about local ecology as well as how each of us can be involved in caring for the land around us!
This field trip is coordinated by GARNA’s Youth Ecological Literacy Program (say that three times, fast), or YELP. YELP works directly with students and teachers energizing curriculum in hands-on outdoor learning environments, while also meeting Colorado Academic Standards. GARNA strongly believes that all classrooms deserve access to outdoor experiences to learn and build skills while gaining a personal connection to nature. YELP school programs are funded through GARNA memberships, grants, and sponsorships through the BLM, the US Forest Service, and other entities.
Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.
