Learn about native plants, invasive weeds and pollinators during a volunteer work day on the Monarch Spur Trail for the Salida Trail Ecological Restoration Project on Saturday, October 24 at 9:00 am. The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA), Land Trust of the Upper Arkansas (LTUA), Salida-area Parks, Open-spaces and Trails (SPOT), and the City of Salida will provide refreshments and shovels, gloves and materials for fencing, weeding and planting. This is a great opportunity to learn about healthy habitat corridors and wildlife along the Monarch Spur Trail.
Participants will meet on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the corner of the Monarch Spur Trail and Holman Avenue in Salida. Coffee, snacks and materials will be provided in part by funding from Monarch Community Outreach. Coordinators from GARNA, SPOT and LTUA will highlight all the work that has been done so far along the trail corridor that is such an important “connector” for the Salida community. Volunteers are asked to bring water and dress appropriately.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
