GARNA will be working with Salida High School freshman World Geography students as part of the Youth Ecological Literacy Program. Goals of the program are for students to:
- Become spatial thinkers who gather, display, and analyze geographic information using geographic tools, learn to analyze and present information using a variety of geographic tools and geographic findings in graphs, tables, charts, and thematic maps.
- Learn the significance of spatial orientation, place, and location.
- Use geographic tools, such as satellite imagery, GIS, GPS, to provide deeper understanding of the world.
- Use technology to collect and communicate geographic data such as the distribution of resources and its influence on population density.
