Join us Friday at 11 AM sharp for our first Ski With a Naturalist program of the season at Monarch Mountain. Winter is here and we are stoked to get out with you! All ages an abilities welcome (green runs only.).
GARNA is again partnering with Monarch Mountain and the USFS Salida Ranger District to offer locals & resort guests a free on-hill ski naturalist tour on the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month throughout the season. Each week will feature a special guest speaker who will focus the tour on their area of expertise.
This week – December 17 – GARNA’s ED Dominique Naccarato & Chris Kassar from Elk Raven Photography will lead the tour, which will touch on the history of Monarch and the surrounding area, geology, public lands, winter ecology, the ecology of subalpine forests & of course, tips for capturing great photos in the high country!
Meet Friday at 11:00 am at the sign near the Cat Skiing Yurt across from the Pioneer lift.
Guests of all ages and abilities are welcome. The tour is free, follows all beginner runs and lasts for about an hour.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
