The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) is excited to announce a Virtual Storytime on Wednesday, Dec. 30th at 4:30 pm. Participant families can gather for a virtual reading of The Lorax by Bianka Martinez, Hispanic Access Fellow at the US Forest Service – Salida Ranger District.
This program will provide families with a half-hour reading of The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, in English and Spanish, with a 30-minute reading in each language. GARNA chose The Lorax, a cautionary story about environmental destruction, as a conversation starter for the new year, and because of its relevance to early learners, our future environmental stewards.
Nosotros en GARNA tenemos el placer de anunciar una Hora de Cuentos Virtuales el 30 de diciembre, un miércoles, a las 4:30pm. Las familias cuales quieren participar pueden unirse para una lectura virtual de “El Lorax” en inglés y español por Bianka Isabella Martinez, un Miembro de Acceso Hispano en el Servicio Forestal de EE, y Diego Ibarra, un miembro de AmeriCorps sirviendo en GARNA.
Este programa le dará la oportunidad a las familias a atender una lectura de media hora de ’El Lorax’ de Dr. Seuss, en inglés y español, con una discusión después de cada lectura. GARNA decidimos leer ‘El Lorax’, un cuento de advertencia sobre la destrucción de la naturaleza, como un tema de conversación para el nuevo año, y su importancia y relevancia para los jóvenes quienes son le próxima generación de líderes y activistas.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
