The “Connecting Kids to Nature,” offered by Colorado Parks & Wildlife and Upper Arkansas T.E.N. (Teaching Environmental Science Naturally), will highlight favorite themes and activities from the past 20 years of Upper Arkansas T.E.N. This 3 1/2-day professional development workshop is set in natural locations in the Upper Arkansas Valley on July 11-14.
The class emphasizes environmental education and hands-on activities for teachers to use with students in both their classroom and in the field. More than just science, the Upper Arkansas T.E.N. program provides hands-on, outdoor activities that can be integrated at all grade levels and in all content areas. The class also highlights natural and cultural history of the area at sites in Chaffee & Lake Counties. Activities are correlated to State Standards to help teachers incorporate workshop content into classroom curricula & outdoor education programs.
Registration deadline is June 30th.
Class is limited to 25 people.
Class cost: $85

From June 1st to June 30th the fee is $85
Two credits from Colorado School of Mines also available for an additional fee of $105
CDE credit available (30 contact hours)

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
