GARNA & the Arkan
sas Headwaters Recreation Area invites you to the 30th Annual Cleanup-Greenup in conjunction with Colorado Public Lands Day!
Join us as we work along the banks of the Arkansas River from Leadville to Cañon City and below to clean up trash and debris from our river corridor in preparation for run-off.
Out of respect for Gov. Jared Polis’ call for social distancing to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, participants are urged to work only in family groups while maintaining a minimum 6-foot distance from others. And please, stay local!
Volunteers may pick up a commemorative pin, gloves and trash bags the morning of the event at registration tables at the AHRA Visitors Center in Salida or at the Buena Vista Community Center in Buena Vista.
Trash Drop-Off: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Prizes will be awarded for Largest Piece of Trash, Strangest Piece of Trash, Most Upcycle-Worthy Piece of Trash, and People’s Choice. Take a picture with your submission and email it to ahra@state.co.us.
Volunteer Picnic: 12 – 2 p.m. – Bring your ticket to the trash drop-off location at Vandaveer and redeem it for a pre-packed lunch as a thank you for your hard work! Then, head over and enjoy the Touch-a-Truck event.

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
