Macro Photography Workshop

The Photography Club is hosting a workshop to explore the world of Macro on Tuesday, September 9, from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Methodist church basement in Salida.  The 2-hour class will be lead by John McCarthy who will discuss all things macro from auto vs. manual setting to lighting and subject matter.  All participants will take photos and download for review. Please contact Ann Graham at anng9555@gmail.com to sign up for the class or to find out more. The class is FREE but participants must be GARNA members. Member rates are as low as $25 for an individual per year. Please join. Class size limit is 10.

Stuff to bring IF you have it

  1. Camera
  2. Tripod
  3. Dark background – a small piece piece of velour works well
  4. Lighting – desk lamp – I have a LED macro ring you can try
  5. Subject –flower, small plant, figurine, stamp, coin – 3D objects are more difficult, therefore more fun
  6. Laptop to download your work
  7. Photo editing software
  8. Patience

Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.

Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:

If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
