The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association and Central Colorado Conservancy are teaming up once again to bring an evening of film from Mountainfilm on Tour. Mountainfilm is a dynamic organization with a festival of films, people, stories and ideas that celebrates indomitable spirit, educates and inspires audiences, and motivates individuals and communities to advance solutions for a livable world.
The Buena Vista festival will take place on Friday, October 20 at the Buena Vista Community Center. Doors open at 6:00 pm, films begin at 7:00 pm.
The evening will include just over 2 hours of films including 10 films. Here is a sampling:
Fix and Release – Each year, hundreds of turtles are admitted to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, a donation-fueled medical clinic that
administers to the ancient and fascinating reptiles. Hit by cars, damaged by boats or mauled by predators, they come in broken. And under the expertise of Dr. Sue Carstairs and her team, the reptiles are nursed back to life (when possible), their babies are hatched and raised, and more turtles are released to the wild than are admitted.
Ice Call – Sam Favret – At the Mer de Glace glacier on Mont-Blanc, freeskier Sam Favret gets abstract with a surreal landscape of frozen flumes, runnels, caves, features and walls, giving whole new meaning to the notion of skiing in “icy conditions.”
The Salida festival will take place at the Salida High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 pm, films begin at 7:00 pm. There will be a different line-up of films each night.
Many GARNA programs require a Liability Release Form be filled out each calendar year.
Your registration is secured upon receipt of payment, as long as there space is still available in a program. If you prefer not to register online (recommended), you may mail a check, made out to “GARNA” to the address below or stop by the office. Please include a note with the program you are registering for. Be aware, some programs sell out quickly, and we cannot confirm your spot with a mailed registration.

Cancellation policy:
If we are notified of your need to cancel by 24 hours of program date, your program fee will be refunded except for a $3.00 administrative fee. No refunds within 24 hours or after the event (but most events are transferable). If minimum enrollment has not been met 2 days before program date, programs will be cancelled and we will refund the full amount.
